Rubbytown Farm is a working dairy farm set amongst 250 acres of woodland and pasture and offers quality farmhouse bed and breakfast near Tavistock in a charming and elegant farmhouse. Self catering accommodation is also available in two well equipped barn conversions.

Situated in the peaceful Tamar Valley on the Devon side of the Cornish border, Rubbytown is an ideal place to stay for a relaxing holiday or a short break. With Dartmoor National Park, the award winning market town of Tavistock and the beautiful Tamar Valley all on our doorstep, what more could you want for your bed and breakfast in Devon, Cornwall and Dartmoor or a self catering stay. There are gorgeous walks from the farm where you can see abundant wild flowers and wildlife. Walk the Tamar Trail through woods down to the nearby River Tamar.

There are Tamar Valley cycle routes and West Devon cycle routes very nearby.

We pride ourselves on our hospitality and to ensure our guests receive the attention they deserve throughout their stay the number of B&B guests is limited to four at any one time, even though we have three double/twin guest bedrooms.

Enjoy a delicious full English farmhouse breakfast with excellent produce and free range eggs, sourced from an award winning local farm shop.

Whilst retaining its charm, the house is furnished to a high standard of comfort and offers accommodation which is spacious and enjoys magnificent views of the local countryside.

Situated just four miles from the ancient Stannary (Tin) Town of Tavistock, a thriving market town on the edge of Dartmoor and the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake. Tavistock has recently been awarded the title of “Best Market Town in Devon”, why don’t you come and see why?

Rubbytown Farm is ideally situated for visiting Dartmoor, Morwellham Quay and the World Heritage Site that incorporates the bordering historic Devon Great Consols mine area. The north coast beaches of Cornwall and Devon are a short car journey away. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, Lanhydrock House, Cotehele House and The Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth are also worth visiting whilst staying at Rubbytown. For the young family you could visit Crealy Adventure Park, Trethorne Farm, Pennywell Farm or Paignton Zoo.

The local pub is just a short drive away and serves evening meals, or you could try the renowned “Horn of Plenty” restaurant which is only one mile away. Tavistock can also offer a variety of restaurants including Chinese and Indian along with local traditional fare.
